Opting For A Traditional Mattress?
The open-coil or open-sprung mattress is more widely known as the Bonnell spring. The springs are formatted in rows and joined to one another, top and bottom by a spiral wire. Price wise, this type of mattress tends to be at the lower end of the market.
Or, a continuous spring unit is made from a single length of wire which is formed into a series of interwoven springs, this tends to give the mattress a more responsive feel and is therefore priced mid range.
Regardless of the spring design, they tend to be covered with basic layers of fillings such as polyester fibre and foam for added comfort and then finished with a non-removable stitched cover.
